Great news for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 fans! Clair Obscur isn't just the short name for developer Sandfall Interactive's hit RPG—it's the title of an entire franchise.
"Clair Obscur is the franchise name. Expedition 33 is one of the stories we aim to tell within this universe," director Guillaume Broche shared with MrMattyPlays (via TheGamer).
"It's still too early to announce exactly what form it will take or the concept behind it, but one thing is certain: this is not the end of the Clair Obscur franchise."
To make things even clearer, he specifically mentioned his approach when "writing sequels," leaving little doubt that a follow-up game is in development. Stay tuned for updates.
In IGN's 9/10 review of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, we called it a "modern RPG classic," adding: "In many ways, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 brought to mind numerous classic and contemporary RPGs I adore, but developer Sandfall truly understood what made those games special and made each borrowed element their own."
