Firaxis Games has hinted at the potential return of Mahatma Gandhi to Civilization VII, possibly as DLC. Gandhi's Return: A Possibility
In a February 13, 2025 IGN interview, Beach addressed the absence of several familiar civilizations and leaders from Civ VII's launch lineup. He stated that no previous civs have been forgotten, acknowledging player concerns about omissions like Great Britain and India.
Beach explained that the sheer number of popular choices necessitated some difficult decisions. The team prioritized introducing fresh, exciting civilizations to maintain a balance. While some familiar faces were left out initially, Beach emphasized that Firaxis is considering their inclusion in future updates or DLC. This leaves the door open for Gandhi's eventual return.
Given Civilization VI's extensive DLC history, Gandhi's inclusion in Civ VII is highly anticipated, although the exact release date remains unknown.
