"Chronomon: A Mix of Stardew Valley and Palworld Now on Mobile"

It's certainly an oddity of gaming that, for all the hatred heaped upon RPG monsters, some of us can't help but love the ugly little buggers. So much so that the monster farming genre is arguably its own niche, as is aptly demonstrated with the recently released Chronomon.

If the name is giving you any hints, then it shouldn't surprise you that Chronomon is best surmised as a mixture of Palworld and Stardew Valley. Exploring a vast RPG-style open world, you'll slowly collect new Chronomon, battling them against others and enjoying cultivating your own farm to boot.

Indeed, Chronomon is much less about actually farming the monsters you tame. Instead, it's more of a regular monster taming RPG where farming is a side gig that helps you out. For better or for worse, it certainly makes you appreciate what adventurers get up to in their downtime.

ChronomancyAvailable at a premium price on iOS and Android, one of the more interesting features that Chronomon promises to introduce down the line is smartwatch compatibility. Which, if nothing else, makes for an excellent pun considering the name (chrono=time and all that).

Mechanically, Chronomon offers a wealth of mechanics to explore, meaning that neither farming nor monster taming is necessarily second fiddle. And with the main selling point being the ability to tailor your experience to jump into adrenaline-fuelled tactical battles or just relax to tend to your crops, there's certainly a lot of appeal here, no matter what kind of player you are.

But if you're looking to have a bit more choice in the RPG genre, there's a whole swathe of releases to choose from. And you can get started just by digging into our list of the top 25 best RPGs for iOS and Android that collates all of our top picks!
