Carrion Mobile Launch Nears, Unveiling Reverse Horror Gameplay

Devolver Digital's impressive Android game library, featuring titles like GRIS, Reigns: Her Majesty, Downwell, and Reigns: Game of Thrones, is about to expand. Get ready for the mobile release of Carrion, the acclaimed "reverse-horror" game.

Initially released on PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One in July 2020, Carrion offers a unique take on the horror genre. Developed by Phobia Game Studio and published by Devolver Digital, the mobile version arrives on October 31st.

What Awaits in Carrion Mobile?

Become the nightmare. In Carrion, you control a terrifying red amorphous creature, using its tentacles to slither, claw, and devour everything in its path. This "reverse-horror" experience puts you in the role of the monster, escaping a high-security Relith Science research facility after a disastrous experiment.

The creature, referred to as "The Monster," has been subjected to extensive genetic manipulation. Now, it's breaking free, evolving, and seeking revenge. Your mission: escape the lab, consuming scientists, security personnel, and anyone else who stands in your way. Navigate vents, smash through doors, and unleash your tentacles to wreak havoc. The mobile version retains the chaotic fun of its PC counterpart.

Progress through the game unlocks upgrades, allowing you to breach barriers and grow in size. Check out this trailer for a sneak peek:

Fans of Metroidvania-style games will find much to enjoy in Carrion's blend of exploration and progression. The pixel art style gives the game a surprisingly charming aesthetic, despite the gruesome gameplay.

Carrion mobile offers a free trial. Unlock the full game and its DLC via a single in-app purchase. Pre-register on the Google Play Store or download it directly on October 31st.
