Following Samin's clue, your search begins in the Iceshard Cliffs. Unlike other quests, waypoints won't lead you directly to the Rime Beetle. Instead, rely on keen observation and a bit of luck. These creatures are easily spotted by their characteristic snowballs, so focus your search on snowy areas.

Specifically, explore Areas 2, 7, 8, 11, and 13 of the Iceshard Cliffs. Keep an eye out for the rolling snowballs, and follow any tracks you might find in the snow.

While you can collect the Rime Beetle manually, capturing it is the objective. Equip your Capture Net (usually accessible via L1/LB), aim with L2/LT, and wait for the target reticle to turn orange before firing. Success adds the Rime Beetle to your collection, completing Samin's request. Alternatively, direct collection yields Frost Pods for inflicting ice damage.

This concludes your guide to finding and capturing Rime Beetles in Monster Hunter Wilds. Check The Escapist for more game tips and information.
