Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Skipping Switch 2 at Launch

By OliviaMar 13,2026

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 appears poised to skip a Nintendo Switch 2 launch release, despite Microsoft's legally binding 10-year commitment to bring the franchise to Nintendo platforms.

In 2023, as part of its effort to secure regulatory approval for the Activision Blizzard acquisition, Microsoft pledged to launch future Call of Duty titles on Nintendo systems with full feature and content parity alongside Xbox versions.

The agreement ensures Nintendo players will "experience Call of Duty just as Xbox and PlayStation gamers enjoy Call of Duty," Microsoft stated at the time. The series has been absent from Nintendo consoles since Call of Duty: Ghosts launched on Wii U in 2013.

According to reputable leaker billbil-kun (via Dealabs), Black Ops 7 is scheduled for November 14, 2025 release on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. While a Switch 2 version may arrive later, it won't launch simultaneously with Nintendo's new console.

Following Black Ops 7's official announcement in June, Activision and Nintendo were reportedly collaborating to bring the veteran FPS franchise to Switch. Activision told IGN both teams continue working on the project: "We're committed to getting the franchise on Switch. Both teams are working on it. We'll share details when ready."

Billbil-kun also noted the Xbox versions will receive physical disc releases, contrasting with recent Microsoft first-party titles.

Pricing is reportedly set at €79.99, suggesting a $69.99 U.S. price point. This aligns with Microsoft's July announcement abandoning plans for $80 game prices, confirming its holiday lineup would maintain the $70 standard. The leak indicates Black Ops 7 will follow this pricing structure.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will be fully unveiled during Opening Night Live at gamescom on August 19, with more details expected during the presentation.
