Surprisingly affordable at $39.99, this price point might be attributed to the game's distribution method. The physical copy comes as a "game-key card" rather than a traditional disk.

Some Nintendo Switch 2 games come on cards that contain the full game data, but Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster uses a game-key card. This card resembles a standard Switch 2 cartridge but does not contain the game itself. Instead, you must insert the card into your Switch 2 and download the 11GB game from the eShop.

Although the game is downloaded, you can still lend or sell the physical card to others. To play, the recipient will need to insert the game-key card into their Switch 2.
