Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster is set to launch exclusively on the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5, coinciding with the console's debut. This remastered version of the beloved 2012 Nintendo 3DS JRPG elevates the gaming experience into the HD era, featuring enhanced graphics, a revamped interface, the ability to fast forward through sections, and more. Preorders are now open, with the game available at various retailers (check it out at Target). Dive in for all the details.

Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster

Release Date: June 5
Price: $39.99 at Best Buy
Get it at:

  • Best Buy - $39.99
  • GameStop - $39.99
  • Target - Not yet available
  • Walmart - Not yet available

Surprisingly affordable at $39.99, this price point might be attributed to the game's distribution method. The physical copy comes as a "game-key card" rather than a traditional disk.

Note: This is a Game-Key Card

Some Nintendo Switch 2 games come on cards that contain the full game data, but Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster uses a game-key card. This card resembles a standard Switch 2 cartridge but does not contain the game itself. Instead, you must insert the card into your Switch 2 and download the 11GB game from the eShop.

Although the game is downloaded, you can still lend or sell the physical card to others. To play, the recipient will need to insert the game-key card into their Switch 2.

What is Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster?

Play Originally launched on the 3DS, Bravely Default captured hearts with its classic turn-based combat and narrative centered around a group of heroes on a quest for four crystals. The game's standout feature is its innovative combat system, which allows players to store turns and execute multiple actions simultaneously. Additionally, the deep job system lets you customize each party member's abilities.

The HD remaster retains all these beloved elements while introducing new features. Players can now fast forward through battles and cut scenes, adjust encounter rates to suit their gameplay style, and enjoy an online mode along with new minigames.
