Leaked Gameplay Footage Surfaces for EA's Next Battlefield Game
Early gameplay footage of EA's upcoming Battlefield title has leaked online, stemming from a closed playtest. As reported by TheGamer, a Twitch user, anto_merguezz, seemingly streamed footage from EA's Battlefield Labs playtest. While the stream itself is unavailable on the user's page, recordings have circulated online, primarily through Reddit.
The leaked footage seemingly confirms the "modern" setting previously hinted at by Vince Zampella, setting it apart from other Battlefield installments with historical or futuristic settings. The clips showcase intense firefights and highlight the game's destructible environments. Initial fan reactions appear positive, a welcome change after the lukewarm reception of Battlefield 2042's launch.Last month's official unveiling offered some insights into the next Battlefield game. A key announcement was the return of a traditional, linear single-player campaign, addressing a major point of contention for players following Battlefield 2042's multiplayer-only approach.
EA currently anticipates launching the new Battlefield game in fiscal year 2026 (April 2025 – March 2026). With the launch date approaching, we can expect more official reveals soon. Given the current leak, keeping Battlefield 6 (or its eventual title) under wraps may prove increasingly challenging for EA.
