Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios unveil "Avatar: Seven Havens," a new animated series expanding the beloved Avatar universe. Created by Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, the masterminds behind the original "Avatar: The Last Airbender," this 26-episode series marks a significant addition to the franchise's 20th-anniversary celebration.

"Avatar: Seven Havens" follows a young Earthbender, the next Avatar after Korra, navigating a world ravaged by a catastrophic event. This new Avatar isn't greeted as a savior; instead, she's hunted by both human and spirit forces, branded as a harbinger of destruction. Forced to confront her mysterious origins alongside her long-lost twin, she must protect the Seven Havens, the last bastions of civilization, before they crumble.

The series, a 2D animated production, will be divided into two 13-episode seasons ("Book 1" and "Book 2"). DiMartino and Konietzko are co-creating the series with executive producers Ethan Spaulding and Sehaj Sethi. Casting details are yet to be revealed.

This marks the first major television series from Avatar Studios, who are also producing a feature-length animated film centered on an adult Aang, slated for a theatrical release on January 30, 2026. The 20th anniversary celebration extends beyond "Seven Havens," encompassing a range of new merchandise, including books, comics, concerts, toys, and a Roblox game. The creators expressed their excitement about continuing the Avatar saga, stating that this new chapter is brimming with fantasy, mystery, and a fresh ensemble of characters.
