Wizards of the Coast showcased their Magic: The Gathering (MTG) and Avatar: The Last Airbender crossover at MagicCon Las Vegas 2025, offering fans a first look at the artwork and mechanics for the Avatar Aang and Aang, Master of Elements cards.
The MTG debut of Aang was revealed through a captivating timelapse demonstrating the creation process behind these beautifully illustrated cards. The first card, Avatar Aang, is a Legendary Creature – Human Avatar Ally with the ability: "Whenever you waterbend, earthbend, firebend, or airbend, draw a card. Then if you've done all four this turn, transform Avatar Aang."

The mystical Aang, Master of Elements serves as another Legendary Creature – Avatar Ally card. While Avatar Aang depicts the protagonist in his powerful Avatar State, this version captures Aang harmonizing with elemental energies differently. Its effect reads: "At the beginning of each upkeep, you may transform Aang, Master of Elements. If you do, you gain 4 life, draw four cards, put four +1/+1 counters on him, and he deals 4 damage to each opponent."
Detailed reveals for the Magic: The Gathering x Avatar: The Last Airbender collaboration arrive August 12, 2025, with the complete set launching globally on November 21, 2025.
Each MTG crossover represents a landmark event for both Wizards of Coast and the player community. Their previous collaboration introduced Final Fantasy-themed cards featuring iconic characters like Cloud, Moogles, Tidus, Sephiroth, and Noctis – a set that proved so popular that several cards have seen substantial market value increases.
