The upcoming Assassin's Creed Shadows stream will showcase protagonists Naoe and Yasuke tackling quests, exploring Harima Province, and battling formidable foes. Developers will also engage with viewers, offering insights into their approach to this latest installment.
Set in feudal Japan, Assassin's Creed Shadows plunges players into a world of samurai conflict and political intrigue. Initially slated for a March 20, 2025 release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, the game's launch has been shifted.
Industry insider Tom Henderson sheds light on the delay, citing the need to rectify historical and cultural inaccuracies, and to further refine the game's polish. Contrary to speculation, Yasuke's role remains intact, though his storyline will undergo revisions.
Henderson attributes the challenges to several factors, including the late integration of historical consultants and internal communication issues. From a technical standpoint, the game requires additional work on bug fixes and gameplay adjustments, the latter being more time-consuming. However, Henderson's sources suggest a Valentine's Day release (February 14th) is now the target, with sufficient time allocated for completion.
