Andor star pushes for Battlefront 3 as sequel gains steam

By ElijahDec 24,2025

New momentum has emerged for a potential Star Wars Battlefront sequel, with support coming from an actor in the acclaimed series Andor.

Recently, players have returned to 2017's Star Wars Battlefront 2 in droves, achieving the game's highest Steam player counts in years despite DICE ending official support long ago.

Muhannad Ben Amor, who portrays resistance fighter Wilmon Paak in Andor, has joined the campaign for a full sequel on social media.

"Star Wars needs to deliver Battlefront 3 immediately," Amor posted on Instagram, revealing his 469-hour playtime in Battlefront 2. "But don't let that inflate your ego."

"I've been a Battlefront 2 player since launch - a true veteran," Amor continued. "Here's hoping Battlefront 3 becomes reality."

The recent resurgence follows Andor's successful second season and other Star Wars celebrations during the annual May 4 events.

After maintaining around 2,000 concurrent Steam players for years, Battlefront 2's numbers have steadily climbed and now approach its all-time peak of 10,000 simultaneous players.

Does this renewed interest increase chances for Battlefront 3? Currently, DICE remains focused on developing its next major Battlefield title, expected to be revealed this summer during player testing phases.

DICE may still hesitate to revisit the franchise after Battlefront 2's controversial loot box launch. However, public opinion has improved significantly since then. While EA no longer holds exclusive Star Wars game rights, Respawn Entertainment continues developing Star Wars projects including a third Jedi installment.

IGN noted in its 2019 re-review: "Star Wars Battlefront 2's turnaround rivals the Skywalker saga's best redemption arcs. It now stands as one of the most exhilarating ways to experience authentic Star Wars action."
