A new trailer for the upcoming TV series Alien: Earth has surfaced online, giving fans an exciting glimpse into what promises to be a thrilling addition to the Alien franchise. The trailer, which was initially showcased at Disney's 2025 Annual Meeting of Shareholders, was shared by the @CineGeekNews account on X/Twitter. It depicts the harrowing journey of survivors from a spaceship wrecked by a Xenomorph, now headed towards Earth.

The trailer not only unveils the new design of the Xenomorph but also highlights how closely Alien: Earth mirrors the aesthetic of Ridley Scott's seminal 1979 film. The setting is a MU/TH/UR control room strikingly similar to that aboard the Nostromo, where Ripley famously uncovered the dire fate of her crew.

In the trailer, we see a crew member in distress, banging on a sealed door as the Xenomorph closes in. Morrow, portrayed by Babou Ceesay, coldly assesses the situation, announcing that the "specimens are loose," and declaring the crew dead. He sets the ship's course for Earth. Following this, we witness six soldiers advancing towards what appears to be the crashed ship, hinting at a grim outcome for them.

The trailer raises several intriguing questions: Will Morrow survive? What drives him? Are there any other survivors, and could any of them be carrying a Xenomorph embryo? How will the soldiers meet their end?

Alien: Earth is set to explore these mysteries, focusing on a mysterious crashed space vessel and a young woman, played by Sydney Chandler, along with a group of tactical soldiers, as they uncover a terrifying secret that puts them in direct confrontation with Earth's most formidable threat.

FX's Alien series is set in the year 2120, which places it after the events of Prometheus and just before the original Alien movie. This timeline has led fans to speculate that Alien: Earth might depict the departure of the Nostromo from Earth or explain how the Weyland-Yutani corporation became aware of the Xenomorphs. As a point of reference, the recently released Alien: Romulus is an interquel set between Alien and Aliens.

Last January, showrunner Noah Hawley discussed his decision to steer away from the backstory introduced in Prometheus for Alien: Earth. He expressed a preference for the "retro-futurism" of the original films and, after consulting with Ridley Scott on numerous aspects of the series, chose to focus on the lore established in the earlier movies rather than the bioweapon narrative.

Alien: Earth is slated to premiere on Hulu in the summer of 2025, with Alien: Romulus 2 also in development, promising more adventures in the Alien universe.
