Best Agamotto Decks in Marvel Snap

Journey back in time with Marvel Snap's Prehistoric Avengers season! The Season Pass introduces Agamotto, a powerful ancient sorcerer and potential game-changer. This guide explores the best Agamotto decks currently available.

How Agamotto Works in Marvel Snap

Agamotto is a 5-cost, 10-power card with the ability: “Game Start: Shuffle 4 Ancient Arcana into your deck.” These Arcana are:

  • Temporal Manipulation (1-cost): “On Reveal: Give Agamotto +3 Power. Put him into your hand if he’s not in play. (Banish this.)”
  • Wombs of Watoomb (2-cost): “On Reveal: Afflict an enemy card here with -5 Power and move it right. (Banish this.)”
  • Bolts of Balthakk (3-cost): “On Reveal: Next turn, you get +4 Energy. (Banish this.)”
  • Images of Ikonn (4-cost): “On Reveal: Transform your other cards here into copies of the highest-Power one. (Banish this.)”

Notice the "Banish" keyword. Ancient Arcana are Skill cards, lacking power and vanishing after use; they cannot be returned to play. This means synergies with cards like Wong are possible, but Odin or Mister Negative won't affect them.

Agamotto's diverse Arcana make him adaptable, but he can dilute a deck's focus.

Best Early Agamotto Decks in Marvel Snap

While a dedicated Agamotto archetype may emerge, he currently fits well into two existing deck types: Wiccan Control and Push Scream.

Wiccan Control

This deck (Quicksilver, Hydra Bob, Hawkeye, Kate Bishop, Iron Patriot, Sam Wilson, Captain America, Cassandra Nova, Rocket & Groot, Copycat, Galactus, Wiccan, Agamotto, Alioth) is expensive, featuring many Series 5 cards. However, many cards can be substituted with similar-cost alternatives. Bolts of Balthakk provides late-game energy even if Wiccan isn't drawn early. The Arcana synergize well; Temporal Manipulation retrieves Agamotto, Wombs of Watoomb disrupts, and Images of Ikonn creates powerful board states, especially with Cassandra Nova or Galactus. Note that Eson, released alongside Agamotto, also complements Arishem decks.

Push Scream

This deck (Hydra Bob, Scream, Iron Patriot, Kraven, Sam Wilson, Captain America, Spider-Man, Rocket & Groot, Miles Morales, Stegron, Cannonball, Agamotto) is also expensive (Series 5 cards: Hydra Bob, Scream, Iron Patriot, Sam Wilson, Rocket & Groot, Cannonball). Replacements include Nightcrawler for Hydra Bob and Jeff for Iron Patriot. Wombs of Watoomb is the primary synergy, but Temporal Manipulation boosts Agamotto's late-game impact after using Bolts of Balthakk. Images of Ikonn multiplies Scream, Spider-Man, or Cannonball for devastating effects. This deck becomes less predictable and counters Luke Cage/Shadow King strategies.

Should You Buy the Prehistoric Avengers Season Pass?

Agamotto, if un-nerfed, rivals Thanos and Arishem in power. He'll be a meta fixture, creating powerful synergies and potentially frustrating opponents. His potential to form his own archetype makes the 9.99 USD Season Pass a worthwhile investment if you have the budget.
