Hexanaut.io is an engaging IO game focused on claiming as much territory as you can. Watch your line carefully—don't cut yourself off or let another player slice through your path. Across the map, you'll find totems that grant special bonuses when captured. How vast a domain can you seize? Show off your strategy in this thrilling territorial conquest.

HEXANAUT GAME INSTRUCTIONS

Move around the map using your mouse. Leave your own zone to begin drawing a line and capturing new ground. Once you re-enter your territory, the loop closes and secures all connected tiles.

Outside your controlled area, however, you're vulnerable. If another player crosses your tail, your line is cut and you'll have to restart.

Aim to capture 20% of the map to earn the Hexanaut title. If you hold that 20% for two full minutes after becoming a Hexanaut, you win the match!

Important: if you get eliminated while an opponent holds the Hexanaut status, you won’t be able to respawn.

CAPTURE TOTEMS

In Hexanaut.io, five unique totems offer strategic advantages. Try capturing them whenever it’s safe—each has distinct strengths that support your territorial control and help you become Hexanaut.

SPREADING TOTEM

The Spreading Totem is the only totem that captures hexes directly for you. Once claimed, it fires lasers that secure nearby tiles one by one. This is especially helpful early on when grabbing territory can be tough.

SPEED TOTEM

The SPEED TOTEM boosts your speed by 5%. While that may sound small, the effect stacks with multiple totems—making a clear difference. Prioritize collecting them to gain a real edge.

TELEPORTING GATE

Teleporting Gates do exactly what their name suggests—they provide instant travel across the map. These are ideal when covering large stretches of your domain, saving you the long trek. They’re also great for surprising foes: catch opponents off-guard while they attack your borders, and slice their tails before they react.

SLOWING TOTEM

The SLOWING TOTEM creates a zone that drastically reduces other players' speed—like a spider’s web where only you move freely. Use this slowdown to trap and eliminate anyone who enters. Conversely, steer clear of enemy slow zones to avoid giving them the advantage.

SPY DISH

The SPY DISH reveals all enemy territories on the map. This becomes crucial as your domain grows, highlighting which areas are under attack and need immediate defense—helping you counter sneaky invaders.

IS HEXANAUT A MULTIPLAYER GAME?
