Escape the Cursed Forest: A Simple Non-Field RPG

Embark on a thrilling adventure in this minimalist RPG where you, the village's best hunter, must escape a cursed forest. The prologue sets the scene: you've traveled to a hunting tournament, only to find the forest eerily deserted. Your journey begins with the unsettling discovery of a deserted campsite, the unsettling absence of fellow hunters, and the disorienting realization that you're hopelessly lost.

Unraveling the "Elven Curse"

Aided by Foria, a mysterious quarter-elf, your goal is simple: escape the cursed woods. Gameplay is streamlined with intuitive controls – a maximum of three buttons at any given time, excluding the main menu.

Character Creation and Progression

While character customization is limited, you can reroll your stats as often as needed before starting. Note that stat increases upon leveling up are only visible on the character creation screen; this information is not accessible during gameplay. Your character's life force is crucial; running out means game over unless you have at least two "talismans."

Foria, Your Unlikely Ally

Foria, a child-like quarter-elf, secretly assists your escape using the forest's ancient spirits. Their dialogue adds a whimsical touch to the narrative.

Exploration and Encounters

Explore the forest's interconnected areas to advance. Exploration success is determined by "fog depth," influenced by your character's stats. When your life force is low, use poison antidotes or rare "talismans" to recover, or retreat to Foria for assistance.

Hunter Battles (Optional)

Various creatures, from wolves to surprisingly aggressive frogs and rabbits, may attack. Defeating them yields hides for trading with Foria. Crucially, there's no traditional leveling up through combat. Battles are entirely avoidable, requiring either luck or strategic gameplay. As a hunter, you use a bow and arrow. Maintaining distance allows attacks without counter-attacks, while closing the gap risks a one-sided assault. You can choose to withdraw or use a "flash" ball to escape.

The Cloak System

Craft cloaks using collected materials to enhance your abilities. Up to three layers can be worn simultaneously, with each layer adding to your stat boosts. Remember, cloaks can tear and become unusable over time.
