Here's how it works: choose a model picture, such as a photo, and while you draw, watch your artwork through your phone or tablet equipped with a camera. The model will appear semi-transparent over your ongoing drawing, assisting you in outlining the contours. This technique echoes the centuries-old method of the camera lucida obscura (see more at Wikipedia).
For the best experience, it's recommended to attach your phone to a support stand to keep it steady, freeing up both hands for your creative work. This isn't cheating; it's a modern approach to learning and honing your artistic skills.
Be sure to WATCH THE VIDEO to understand how to use the app effectively. Reviews indicate that users who gave low ratings might not have fully grasped the app's functionality. A helpful hint: on newer Samsung and LG phones without a menu button, you can access the menu by long-pressing the task-switching button.
