Application Description
12BT, also known as 12 Tehni, is a strategic two-player board game.
12BT (a traditional game) is a chess-like game for two players. Each player starts with 12 pawns. To move a pawn (also called a bead, Tehni, or Guti), there are two primary options: first, if all adjacent positions around a pawn are empty, it can move to any vacant spot. Secondly, a player can capture an opponent's pawn by jumping over it. The player who captures all 12 of their opponent's pawns first wins the game.
It shares similarities with Draughts or Checkers (also known as Dame or Damas). It is also comparable to the Arabic game Quirkat or Alquerque (القرقات). Other similar games include Halma, Chinese Checkers, and Konane. Alquerque's board and setup are particularly close to the Bara Biti game. Although the board setup for Draughts differs, anyone familiar with Draughts or Checkers will find it easy to learn Quirkat, Alquerque (القرقات), and this game.
